If you’re looking for a vacation rental, there’s one thing you need to know: Royal Shell is synonymous with Captiva Island. Royal Shell Captiva Island has access to resorts and rental homes across the island, offering something for everyone.
Renting Through Royal Shell Captiva Island
On the Royal Shell website, you can search through hundreds of (drop dead gorgeous) Captiva Island vacation rentals. Everything from modest one bedroom condos to eight bedroom mansions is at your fingertips. Once you’ve picked your rental and made the payment, you’re all set. All you have to do is check in.
The Royal Shell Captiva Island office is one of the more prominent buildings on the island. Located at the corner of Andy Rosse Lane and Captiva Drive, the three story office building is easy to access and offers free parking during check-in and checkout.
Check-in is at 3 p.m. for condos and 4 p.m. for homes. Checkout for all Royal Shell properties is 10 a.m. For weekly rentals, expect a Saturday-Saturday stay.
If your rental doesn’t have any, you can rent beach towels through Royal Shell for $3 per towel for your stay.
Royal Shell Captiva Island Vacation Rental Options
You can find anything from a small place for two, to a massive mansion capable of hosting a family reunion (as long as you invite relatives you don’t mind being stuck with on a small island).
Many vacation homes come with their own pool. An added benefit of renting a home is the extra space and privacy you get with a pool, backyard and often patios. Some rentals even allow your favorite four-legged family member.

Jensen’s Twin Palm Marina and Cottages
In the spring of 2021, Royal Shell expanded its Captiva Island operations by purchasing Jensen’s Twin Palm Marina and Cottages from the Jensen family. One of the Island’s oldest resorts, Jensen’s Twin Palm offers the complete island vacation experience: fishing guides, boat rentals, island tours and more.

Lee County has designated parts of the land a historic property, as it remains one of the few “old” Florida parts of the island.
Jensen’s Twin Palm offers studio cottages with room for two guests and two-bedroom cottages for four guests. The property also includes 35 boat slips in its gulf-side Marina and has one of the best spots on the island to watch the sun rise.
South Seas Properties
Yes, you can rent select South Seas Island Resort properties through Royal Shell. In fact, that’s exactly what we did on our first family trip to the island. Many condos and villas on the property are privately owned. And they use Royal Shell to rent out their unit.
If you rent a South Seas property through Royal Shell, be sure to check-in at the Royal Shell office first. If you show up at the South Seas main gate without your rental credentials, you won’t be allowed on the property.
Be aware that not all South Seas rentals through Royal Shell include the coveted South Seas wristband, which grants full access to the resort and its amenities (including resort restaurants and the North End pools).
