Good news island-goers! Sunday trips to Sanibel and Captiva Island will have no tolls on Sundays between Aug. 6 and Sept. 24, 2023.
Initially set to end on Sep.t 10, Lee County voted to extend the list of toll-free days through the Island Hopper Music Festival’s Captiva Island dates. There will also be no tolls on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2022.
The Lee Board of County Commissioners voted to waive tolls on the Sanibel Causeway in support of the “Savor the Shore” campaign organized by the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau.
Savor the Shore Dates
Tolls on the Causeway will be waived on the following days:
- Aug. 6, 2023
- Aug. 13, 2023
- Aug. 20, 2023
- Aug. 27, 2023
- Sept. 3, 2023
- Sept. 10, 2023
- NEW: Sept. 17, 2023
- NEW: Sept. 23, 2023
- NEW: Sept. 24, 2023
The campaign is intended to encourage residents to enjoy access to local restaurants and attractions during the off-season. Tolls are waived each Sunday on the Causeway only, not additional Lee County bridges.
