Captiva Island Resorts
For those looking to customize their stay length and more of a traditional vacation experience with full on-site amenities, resort rentals are going to be your best bet.
‘Tween Waters Inn
‘Tween Waters Inn is the first of the resorts you see on Captiva Island. Located on the bayside of the island, you will need to cross the main road to get to the beach. ‘Tween Waters offers cottages, studio units and guest rooms. Onsite dining, spa services, tennis courts, a marina and other activities are available here.
Jensen’s on the Gulf & Twin Cottages
Jensen’s is actually two separate campuses owned by the same company. As the name suggests, Jensen’s on the Gulf is a gulf-facing resort. Twin Cottages is a bay-side property on the Roosevelt Channel and houses the resort’s marina.
Captiva Island Inn
Captiva Island Inn has several 1- and 2- bedroom options available, as well as two vacation rental homes. Most options are not beach side. This company operates several of the areas restaurants.
South Seas Island Resort
For some, South Seas Island Resort is what they think of when they hear “Captiva Island.” Since South Seas makes up the northern half of the island, it makes sense. Home to a marina, golf course, tennis courts and several dining options, South Seas’ expansive property has something for everyone.
Vacation Rental Options
Aside from the resorts, there are dozens, it not hundreds of vacation rental properties available. Some rentals are on the South Seas resort property, but may not include the complete South Seas amenities (these are for rent by owner).
Vacation rentals like this are perfect for groups as two families can make use of a whole home. Having a private pool or hot tub is a plus. You can even save money with some properties that supply beach chairs and umbrellas, instead of renting these items separately.
Rentals range from studio condos to full homes. Amenities in these units often include a private pool, grills and beach gear. A typical stay for vacation rentals is by the week, Saturday-Saturday. These rentals often give the most recent renter the chance to rebook for the same week, the following year. You have a limited amount of time to confirm. Once your renewal timeframe has ended, anyone can book your rental for those dates, the next year.
Finding the perfect place that suits your needs, group size and timeline can be difficult during peak season (February-April). If a Captiva getaway is going to be an annual event, be sure to lock in for next year.
