Say hello to the finest dining on Captiva Island. The dazzling new Crow’s Nest Steakhouse on Captiva Island features gourmet surf and turf while serving up a million-dollar view. The newest restaurant on the island, Crow’s Nest has a front-row water view near the entrance of ‘Tween Waters Island Resort and Spa.
Dinner with a View
The view at Crow’s Nest can’t be beat. It elevated the island’s dining scene, literally. The second-story restaurant boasts floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of the gorgeous gulf waters. The impeccably decorated nautical space perfectly complements the breathtaking beach views. The restaurant is swimming in classy blue, white, and gold accents. It’s so close to the water, you truly feel you’re dining on a boat.
If a crow’s nest ensures the most extensive views on a ship, then this restaurant’s name passes with flying colors.
The new nest sits atop The Shipyard, the resort’s more casual restaurant (where the former Crow’s Nest – a casual bar and restaurant – used to drop anchor).
Crow’s Nest Steakhouse is First Rate from Stem to Stern
As one of two Captiva Island restaurants with a sunset view, the scenery is the focal point. But the only thing that’ll distract you from staring at the endless waters is the food. It’s as delicious as it is beautiful.
Steak is the highlight of the menu, and Crow’s Nest offers filet mignon, New York strip and ribeye. Our filet mignon was perfectly cooked and so tender, you could cut it with a butter knife.
Like most steakhouses, the side dishes are served a la carte. You won’t want to miss the purple au gratin potatoes. The dish strikes the right balance of potato and cheese and is right at home alongside the restaurant’s steaks. You can also add a sauce to be served with your steak, including whiskey sauce, port demi-glace, Guinness reduction, and garlic butter. The bearnaise sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the filet mignon. If surf and turf is more your style, you can add a 10 oz lobster tail to your steak.
The vegan delight is the only entree that doesn’t feature seafood or meat. It’s a colorful assortment of pan-seared vegetables with jasmine rice and a light salad on top. It’s full of flavor and will fill you up. While I’m a seafood lover, I’d get this again in a heartbeat.
In addition to these entrees, the restaurant offers lobster, tuna, prawn scampi, lamb shank, pork, and a steakhouse burger. If you want even more entertainment, order the Caesar salad. Big enough for two, the salad is prepared tableside on a beautiful cart.
Not only is the food and decor incredible, so is the service. Attentive staff were eager to please the night we visited. And if you sit at the bar, prepare to be entertained by the drink-making magic. Smoked Old Fashioned, anyone?
Reservations Required
Before you go, be sure to make a reservation. Not only does the Crow’s Nest book quickly, it’s an intimate space with limited tables. You can book your reservation on Crow’s Nest website or on Open Table.
Insider Tip: Don’t show up with hopes of dining at the bar; you’ll need a reservation to sit there too. (We found out the hard way! Thankfully the staff was gracious and accommodating.)
There is also a dress code: resort attire. So be sure to leave your swimsuit, swim cover and flip-flops in your room.
Crow’s Nest Steakhouse is so stylish and stunning, we found the only problem: they’ve made it so inviting, you won’t want to leave the nest!
