If you’re looking for an excellent meal on Sanibel Island, Grandma Dot’s will hit the spot! No one told us how amazing this place is and that’s why we’re telling you!
We had biked by the restaurant several times, vowing to eat here someday. When we finally dined at Grandma Dot’s, we wished we had visited sooner. Warm wood tones and bright white ceilings give off genuine coastal vibes. It’s casual and inviting, like going to grandma’s. And the food speaks for itself.

Grandma Dot’s Sanibel Marina Dining

Get the coconut shrimp – your life won’t be the same! It’s simply amazing, a must for seafood fans. The restaurant is known for the coconut shrimp which our server highly recommended. And for good reason. Their fresh, plump shrimp are covered in a crispy coconut coating that’s full of flavor and fills you up. It’s so satisfying and may be the best coconut shrimp I’ve ever tasted. It’s food like this that’ll keep you coming back for more. I’d visit the island just to feast on this meal!
The key lime pina colada is the prettiest I’ve seen with its swirl of key lime coating the glass.

Can we talk about the key lime pie? It may be my favorite so far, and I’ve had a lot of key lime pie! It’s the perfect balance of zest and creaminess. Presented simply with cascading whipped cream on top, the combination of sweet, tang, and savory creates flavor perfection.
Ship’s Store
A stop at the store at Grandma Dot’s is a must while you’re docked or just visiting. It’s stocked with all the essentials—cold drinks, snacks, and a few handy boating provisions if you’re heading back out on the water. You’ll also find some fun Sanibel souvenirs, perfect for grabbing a little piece of island charm to take home. Whether you need supplies or just want to browse, it’s a great little spot to explore.
By Bike, Car, and Boat

Located in the Sanibel Marina, just up the road from Sanibel Lighthouse Beach, Grandma Dot’s is accessible on land and by boat.
No matter how you get here, just be sure to come early to avoid a wait. Prime lunch and dinner time can get crowded but that’s a sign you’ve come to the right place for a good meal! While the dining room is cozy, there’s plenty of tables on a large front patio along with a side patio, overlooking the marina.
