South Seas Island Resort Grand Re-Opening, Next Chapter Begins

After nearly three years of rebuilding in the wake of Hurricane Ian, South Seas Island Resort is officially back. With a heartfelt celebration over Memorial Day weekend, the event marked both the official return of the resort post-Ian and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

The Grand Re-Opening celebration highlighted the improvements across the resort, from refreshed dining venues and redesigned pools to enhanced fitness facilities and the brand-new Clutch Golf Course. The resort’s guests can also enjoy the renovated Bayview Pier and the revived Shops at South Seas.

A centerpiece of the weekend was the second annual South Seas Tarpon Tournament, benefitting Folds of Honor, a nonprofit that provides educational scholarships to the families of fallen or disabled military members and first responders. Last year’s inaugural event raised more than $200,000, and this year’s proceeds are expected to benefit local families across Lee County and the surrounding islands.

“Providing a world-class fishing tournament that combines competition with community is an unforgettable way to celebrate,” said Shawn Farrell, General Manager of South Seas. “We’re proud to welcome guests back while supporting such a meaningful cause.”

Other than the all-new Beach House, the resort’s new gulfside restaurant opening this fall, all of the resort’s restaurants and amenities are now open.
