Hurricane Ian and South Seas
In September 2022, Hurricane Ian caused extensive damage to the 330-acre resort on Captiva Island. Like most of Captiva and Sanibel, the resort was forced to close while debris was removed and structures were repaired and rebuilt.
The Hurricane hit one year after Timbers Company acquired the luxury resort. When the resort was sold, Timbers had plans to make updates and remodel several areas.
Those updates and many repairs are under construction. South Seas is open while the repairs and improvements are being made.
Be sure to check with the resort on the status of certain amenities.
