Old Captiva House has recently been restored and features a new menu. This is one of the island’s most popular options for fine dining. Located on the Tween Waters property, Old Captiva House is a convenient option for those staying on or near the resort. Those closer to Andy Rosse Lane or at South Seas will want to drive, unless you want to take a relaxing stroll along the beach on your way back home.

Crow’s Nest Bar and Grille is the casual counterpart to Old Captiva House. Crow’s Nest’s menu includes sandwiches, tacos, appetizers and plenty of entrees; meaning even the pickiest eater can find something to eat. With live music, drag queen bingo and crab races, Crow’s Nest will keep you fed and entertained.

The Oasis serves hot food and cold drinks for lunch, a menu perfect for a day spent poolside. Burgers, sandwiches and wraps, oh my! Plenty of blended drinks to cool you down and quench your thirst while working hard on your tan.

Named for the optical illusion seen at sunset, The Green Flash is a fine dining restaurant that overlooks Pine Island Sound. Located between Andy Rosse Lane and Tween Waters Inn on the bay side of the island, the Green Flash features a European-centric menu that expertly incorporates some of Florida’s prime seafood choices. Don’t miss their Green Flash drink, a unique take on a pina colada.

The Mucky Duck Captiva is the island’s watering hole. Situated on the beach, the Mucky Duck is a British Pub-inspired restaurant where vacationers flock for sunset. Appetizers and drinks are available on the beach-facing patio, with the full menu available for indoor dining. Arrive early if you’re hoping for dinner at a window table; giving you a front row seat for sunset. It is the best place to watch sunset on Captiva Island!

This is one of our family’s go-to stops each trip. Captiva Island Pizza offers New York style pies large enough to feed a family of four. There are a few tables inside the restaurant, but it’s primarily a take-out pizzeria. Free delivery is available Fridays and Saturdays. If you go, get the Cannonball Pizza. Bon Appetit!

Yes, they have key lime pie. In fact, the Keylime Bistro Key Lime Pie is the best version you can get on Captiva. Don’t miss your chance to taste the famous pie highlighted in Bon Appetit magazine. The Keylime Bistro’s menu also features an eclectic choice of entrees and drinks. While there isn’t a strong nightlife on Captiva Island, the patio at the Keylime Bistro is where people gather for free music and light dancing at night. 

Sunshine Seafood Cafe and Wine Bar – $$$$

For wine lovers on Captiva, this is your place. Sunshine Seafood Cafe is fine dining in a more casual atmosphere. Bonus for families; kids are welcome. Options include fillet mignon, rack of lamb and paella. Get the crab cakes.

RC Otters is open breakfast through dinner and has a wonderful kids menu for $5.99. This is a great place if you’re looking for a filling meal at a lower price range.

Latte Da Captiva is an ice cream and coffee shop. Unless you’re staying at South Seas, this is the place for your morning caffeine fix as the lines are nowhere near as long as Starbucks down the road. Open 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily. 

The Bubble Room – $$$

For those who’ve been coming to Captiva for decades, The Bubble Room is the often the first restaurant that comes to mind. Located at the corner of Andy Rosse Lane and Captiva Dr, it’s hard to miss. Even if you don’t eat here, be sure to grab a slice of cake to-go at their new shop next door.

The Bubble Room has leaned into its greatest asset with the addition of Boops By The Bubble Room. Located in the Bubble Room parking lot across the street from their gift shop, this desert bar/ice cream parlor/soda fountain/coffee bar is the island’s newest eatery. The desserts here are amazing, and built to share. Even if you don’t eat here, be sure to grab a slice of cake to-go.

The furthest north of the restaurants in the village area, Captiva Cantina is the island’s Mexican/Southwestern establishment. With its pitchers of beer, sangria and margaritas, the Cantina is great for groups or for catching up with old friends. Stop by for meal and place a dollar on the wall or ceiling. 

SOUTH SEAS RESORT – PUBLIC RESTAURANTS AND SHOPS

Captiva Provision Company is a liquor store, sandwich shop, and full-service market. Operated by South Seas Island Resort, this market is off campus and open to the public. Grab-and-go options include sandwiches and several flavors of rotisserie chicken. Its alcohol and market offerings will generally save you from making a Sanibel run.

No explanation needed here. As one of two island coffee shops, and the one with national recognition, it can get busy. One note to first-timers: the line is out the door most mornings, don’t count on making a coffee run on Saturday mornings if you have an earlier flight.

If you’re looking for something a little different from the rest of the island and want cuisine that reflects Florida, this is it. Cuban Sandwich, raw bar, peel and eat shrimp are all some of the must-eats. Located on the southern edge of South Seas Resort, Doc Ford’s Captiva is open to the public. Get the rum flight, trust us.

Every Tuesday, November – April, South Seas Island Resort hosts the Captiva Island Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. near the main entrance. More than 30 vendors offer food and gifts. 2019-2020 offerings included. Open to the public.

Located miles from the main gate of South Seas, these restaurants are open only to those with access to the resort.

With the Harbourview closed for lunch, this is South Sea’s table service lunch option. The Pointe is open 11 a.m. until sunset.

If your idea of vacation is laying by the pool, drink in hand, then the Crooked Snook Tiki Bar is where you’ll spend your days. Both food and drink are available, service is poolside. The view here is one of the best on the island.

Scoops and Slices is a 1950’s ice cream parlor, pizza joint and candy store. Stop in for a slice, scoop or an alcoholic ice cream shake. 

Attitudes Beach Bar / Latitudes Food Shack -$$

Attitudes/Latitudes is South Sea’s equivalent of the Mucky Duck and where vacation goers gather at sunset. Located on the beach, it offers food and drinks.
