Surprisingly, this tiny island offers a wide variety of places to stay. From budget-friendly to budget-blowing, options are everywhere. You just need to know where to look.

Captiva Island Vacation Rentals
Private homes are often available for rent via the usual suspects: VRBO and AirBNB. Another popular option for this area is Royal Shell Captiva . This Florida-based real estate business has an abundance of homes and condos available for vacation rental on both Captiva and Sanibel. American Realty of Captiva, Kingfisher Vacations, and Sanibel Captiva Vacation Rentals offer rental options as well.
There are impressive beach homes on the water and village main street that go for as much as $10,000 per week. These are ideal for large family or group gatherings as they’re quite sizable and most offer four bedrooms or more.
Many modest homes are available to rent on a handful of quiet streets only blocks from the main village. These tend to be in the $3,000 to $5,000 range, depending on the week. Most are within a five minute walk to the water. The streets closest to the village center are covered in greenery. The lush trees and plants give you ample privacy from neighbors, making you feel at times as though you have the island all to yourselves.
One important note; vacation rentals are generally a Saturday-Saturday option.

Perks of a private home
The biggest perks that come with renting a home include more space and privacy. Many even come with a pool and hot tub. Because of this, the cost to rent a home can be higher than a condo or hotel room. Many people on group vacations rent a home; splitting the cost makes it much more affordable!
Perks of hotel or resort
When you stay at a resort, you have access to amenities you may not find with a home. While some homes offer a pool, resorts can have several pools to choose from. You can also find family-friendly activities on the property, restaurants and spas exclusively for guests. Everything is on site; you don’t even have to leave the resort grounds. If you want greater flexibility with your dates, a resort may be your best bet.
